Priest River

Page history last edited by kathywbld 11 mos ago

Welcome to the lovely panhandle of Idaho.  Here you can find lakes, rivers, forests and unlimited beauty.  Priest River is about 6 miles from the Washington border. By following HWY 2 west you will enter the town of Newport.   If you follow Hwy 2 east you will arrive in Sandpoint, Idaho on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille.  Whether you travel east or west you will travel along side the beautiful Pend Oreille River.  This river is part of the Panhandle Historic Rivers Passage and is the southern leg of the International Selkirk Loop which heads into British Columbia, Canada.

Downtown Priest River has many historical buildings that are slowly being renovated. The West Bonner Library is right in the middle of the downtown area. Come visit us and enjoy a touch of nostalgia.

Our Library is located on 219 Main. It was once a Dr. Office. It was purchased by our Friends of the Library. After much renovation and a lot of hard work by FOL members, Staff, Volunteers and dedicated patrons, We have a beautiful Library. We are very proud of it and invite you to stop by and visit us if you are able.

Priest River has all the shops you have to have but is close enough to bigger shopping  centers if you like to shop 'til you drop.  The slower pace of life is definitely a plus if you don't like running all the time.
