American Falls was entirely moved in the early 1900's to make way for a dam. Every building was purchased by the government and then if the former owner wanted to keep it, it was moved by either teams of horses or early steam tractors. Once it was moved, the owner could buy it back from the government and move back in at its new site. Many of these building which were moved are still being used over 100 years later.
